Through the Ogun State Farmer Information Management System (OGFIMS) initiative, in partnership with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and the Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture, the state is using data-driven strategies to transform the agricultural sector. Funded by the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) and supported by the World Bank, the initiative aims to improve the efficiency and reach of agriculture in Ogun State.
Technology for Farmers Streamlining Data and Improving Access
One of the key components of OGFIMS is the digital registration system, which has already proven successful. Between July and November 2023, 160,000 farmers and Value Chain Actors (VCAs) were registered, thanks to 70 trained enumerators using digital tools.
