Medplus and Mobihealth Launch Telehealth Hubs to Improve Healthcare Access in Nigeria

Getting quick access to doctors in Nigeria can be stressful, especially with long wait times, high costs, and the shortage of medical professionals in many communities. To tackle this, Medplus, one of Nigeria’s largest pharmacy chains, has partnered with Mobihealth International to launch telehealth hubs across its outlets nationwide.

With this innovation, Nigerians can now walk into any participating Medplus store and consult a licensed doctor virtually, receive genuine prescriptions, and access medications conveniently.

How the Telehealth Hubs Work

The initiative will operate across over 140 Medplus outlets in 19 states, providing:

Private telehealth booths with diagnostic support.

Virtual consultations with licensed doctors.

E-prescriptions that can be filled immediately at the pharmacy or delivered to your home.

Walk-in healthcare access, reducing the need for long hospital visits.

This makes it easier for both busy urban dwellers and underserved communities to receive timely, affordable, and reliable care.

Why This Matters

Many Nigerians struggle with delays in getting medical attention. By bringing doctors virtually into pharmacies, patients no longer must choose between waiting hours at a hospital or self-medicating. Instead, they can get professional guidance, genuine drugs, and quick follow-up care.

“With over 140 stores across 19 states, we’re proud to be at the forefront of transforming pharmacy care in Nigeria. Our partnership with Mobihealth ensures that every Medplus store is not just a place to buy medicine but a gateway to timely, affordable, and trusted healthcare services.” — Mrs. Joke Bakare, CEO of Medplus

The Medplus–Mobihealth telehealth hubs are a game-changer for healthcare in Nigeria. By merging pharmacy services with virtual doctor consultations, Nigerians now have a reliable way to access healthcare quickly and safely. This is a major step toward reducing barriers and ensuring that medical care reaches more people across the country.
