Eligible Nigerians have only a short time left to complete the INEC Voter Registration 2026, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially close on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

If you are 18 years or older, have never registered to vote, or need to update your voter information, this is your final opportunity to be included in the national register of voters ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Why You Should Register Now

Your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) gives you the opportunity to participate in choosing Nigeria’s leaders. Without completing the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process, you may not be eligible to vote in future elections.

INEC has made the registration process easier by allowing eligible Nigerians to complete their registration online or receive assistance at designated registration centres across the country.

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Visit the Official CVR Portal

Go to the official INEC Continuous Voter Registration portal:

https://cvr.inecnigeria.org

Begin your registration or update your existing voter information.

Step 2: Complete Your Registration

Fill in the required personal details accurately and follow the instructions provided on the portal.

Step 3: Visit an INEC Registration Centre (If Needed)

If you need assistance or are unable to complete the process online, visit any of the following:

  • INEC State Office
  • INEC Local Government Area (LGA) Office
  • Designated CVR Registration Centre

Step 4: Register Before the Deadline

The registration exercise closes on:

Sunday, July 26, 2026

Registration centres operate:

9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily, including weekends, until the registration exercise ends.

Who Should Register?

The exercise is open to:

  • Nigerians who have turned 18 years old
  • Citizens who have never registered to vote
  • Registered voters who need to transfer their voting location
  • Voters who need to correct or update their personal information
