In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the singer revealed that in 2011, he got into serious trouble at home after sneaking out of school to perform in Ibadan — an experience he now sees as a defining turning point in his career.
Davido recalled leaving Babcock University to join the Lynxxx and Friends Tour in Ibadan alongside Asa, Peju, B-Red, and Sina. The young artist had no idea the performance would be aired on Soundcity. When his father saw it, he faced strict consequences for abandoning school responsibilities.
A Full Circle Moment: From Trouble to Triumph
Fourteen years later, Davido is celebrating his growth after delivering a record-breaking performance at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, on November 9, 2025. The sold-out show was part of his 5ive Alive Tour, which has traveled across cities like Uyo, Yola, Enugu, and Ibadan.
