Key Dates and Special Arrangements
According to a statement from the scheme’s official Facebook page, registration will run until midnight on Friday, September 26, with the swearing-in ceremony taking place on the same day.
However, Kwara State will observe a different timetable. Its orientation camp will open on Tuesday, September 30, and close on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Important Registration Requirements
NYSC Director-General, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, emphasized that all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) must report to the camps indicated in their call-up letters.
Foreign-trained graduates must present their international passports and original versions of uploaded documents.
Polytechnic and monotechnic graduates are required to present their National Diploma certificates.
In case of a lost call-up letter, those who received theirs from schools must provide a police report and affidavit before returning to their institutions for assistance. PCMs who printed theirs online can reprint a fresh copy.
All corps members must bring original call-up letters, statements of results or certificates, school ID cards, and medical fitness certificates from government or military hospitals stamped by the Nigerian Medical Association.
Medical and allied health graduates must also present proof of registration with their professional bodies.
Safety Guidelines for Corps Members
Highlighting safety, the NYSC strongly cautioned against night travels.
“Once it is 6:00pm, prospective corps members are enjoined to break their journeys and spend the night at military or police barracks, NYSC secretariats or corps lodges nearest to their disembarkation point,” the statement read.
The scheme also advised PCMs to use only government-approved motor parks and transport companies to avoid criminal attacks.
Who Can Apply for Exemptions or Special Considerations?
Married, pregnant, and nursing mothers who are posted outside their husbands’ states of residence can apply to complete the orientation in their states of domicile. They must present evidence of marriage, their husbands’ identification, and proof of residence.
The DG further warned that any prospective corps member who fails to report for service or participates illegally will face prosecution as stated in the NYSC Act.
