With over 400 member companies, OGTAN has delivered thousands of courses and certifications that continue to prepare talents for the oil and gas industry.

How Nigerians Can Benefit

Skills Development: Nigerians can enrol in OGTAN member institutions or affiliate academies for certifications and practical courses in oil and gas.

University Linkages & Young Professional Programmes: OGTAN works with universities to give students exposure to industry practices. Young professionals can benefit from workshops, internships, and mentorships.

National Standards: Under the sponsorship of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), OGTAN is helping to design occupational standards. This ensures that training matches industry needs, making graduates more employable.

Career Growth: By pursuing these programmes, individuals can build competencies in critical areas like drilling, safety, logistics, and energy management—skills that are always in demand.

“The future of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry depends not just on resources, but on the skills and capacity of its people.”

A Commitment to the Future

OGTAN President, Chris Osarumwense, emphasized:

“Capacity development is vital to Nigeria’s energy future. Through university linkages, young professionals’ programmes and workshops, OGTAN drives human capacity growth, equipping talent with competencies needed to keep the sector competitive and innovative.”

OGTAN’s work shows that building human capacity is as important as drilling oil. Nigerians, especially students and young professionals, should take advantage of OGTAN’s training opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills. By doing so, they can secure better jobs, support local content development, and contribute to Nigeria’s long-term energy success.
