Sanwo-Olu Donates Buses to Boost Justice and Security Delivery in Lagos
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has donated seven new buses to the Lagos State Ministry of Justice to improve legal and judicial operations across the state. The donation, facilitated through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), aims to enhance the effectiveness, accessibility, and speed of justice delivery.
The gesture was announced by the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro, who described the donation as a timely support to justice administration in Lagos.
Targeted Use of the Buses
Of the seven vehicles:
Two buses will be assigned for transporting suspects and inmates to and from court hearings, easing delays caused by lack of transportation.
Two buses will serve the Special Taskforce on Human Trafficking, enabling timely interventions and enforcement.
The remaining three will be deployed to enhance the mobility of prosecutors and legal teams, especially in underserved communities.
This mobility upgrade will ease logistical challenges, support timely trials, and improve coordination among legal officers and agencies.
“These vehicles will be deployed strategically to underserved areas, ensuring faster and more equitable access to justice for all Lagosians.”

A Governor Committed to Justice Reform
According to Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, Executive Secretary of LSSTF, this marks the first direct request granted by Governor Sanwo-Olu to the Ministry of Justice. It underscores the governor’s commitment to institutional development, inter-agency collaboration, and a more efficient justice system.
Controller of Corrections for Lagos State, Mr. George Daramola, praised the move, noting that the designated buses will ensure safe and timely movement of inmates, reducing court delays.
In his remarks, Mr. Hameed Oyenuga, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the ministry, reaffirmed the state’s resolve to deliver justice to all.
“These vehicles will be deployed strategically to underserved areas, ensuring faster and more equitable access to justice for all Lagosians,” Oyenuga said.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s donation goes beyond transportation—it’s a deliberate investment in speedy trials, public safety, and human rights protection. By addressing logistical gaps, the state is moving closer to a justice system that works for everyone.
