Late Nigerian actress Allwell Ademola was a beloved figure in Nollywood, known for her dynamic performances in both Yoruba and English films, her creative spirit, and her commitment to the arts. Born on 9 August 1976 in Lagos and hailing from a respected Yoruba family with royal roots, Ademola began her acting career as a child and later became an award-winning actress, producer, and filmmaker. Her career spanned decades, during which she also formed Allwell Ademola Production and released music with her band Allwell and Company 

Passing and Reaction from the Industry 

Allwell Ademola died on 27 December 2025 after suffering a heart attack at her residence in Agege, Lagos. She reportedly had trouble breathing and was taken to Ancilla Catholic Hospital in Agege where her death was confirmed. Although initial reports varied on her age, the family later clarified she was 49 years old at the time of her passing. ([Wikipedia][1]) 

The news sent shock waves through the film community. Fellow actors including Faithia Balogun, Damola Olatunji, Bidemi Kosoko, and Rotimi Salami shared heartfelt tributes, expressing disbelief and deep sorrow at the loss of a colleague and friend. Many described her as warm, committed to her craft, and supportive of others in the industry.  

“Life is a mirage,” actor Damola Olatunji posted during the initial mourning period — a sentiment shared widely by colleagues grappling with the sudden loss.  

Funeral Arrangements: Service, Candlelight, and Burial 

The family of the late actress announced detailed funeral rites to honour her life and legacy: 

Service of Songs & Candlelight Procession 

Service of Songs was held on Thursday, 8 January 2026, at LTV 8, Ikeja, Lagos. This gathering brought together many Nollywood stars and friends for prayer, reflection, and shared memories. Following the service, a candlelight procession took place between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, forming a moving tribute as colleagues carried candles to celebrate her light and influence in the industry. 

Burial Ceremony 

The burial was conducted on Friday, 9 January 2026, at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos. Attendees were asked to honour the family’s chosen dress code of white shirts and jeans as a symbol of peace and remembrance. The family expressed profound gratitude for the outpouring of support, prayers, and messages from fans, friends, and industry peers.  

Princess Allwell Ademola’s life was one of passion, creativity, and influence. Her sudden departure left a gap in Nollywood, but the overwhelming love and respect shown during her funeral rites reflected the profound impact she had on colleagues and fans alike.
