Thrive Foundation Trains Over 100 Girls in Tech Skills

The Thrive Above and Beyond Foundation has taken a bold step to bridge the gender gap in the tech industry by empowering more than 100 girls between the ages of 15 and 20 with future-ready digital skills. Through a seven-day training programme tagged ‘Thrive Girls in STEM’, young participants were equipped with practical knowledge in web development, graphic design, and creative technology.

Hands-On Learning, Real-World Impact

During the training, the girls were not only introduced to modern digital tools but also gained exposure to real-world workflows and collaborative projects. The programme focused on building personal development, leadership, and critical thinking—skills necessary to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

A Showcase of Innovation and Talent

The programme ended with ‘Innovation in Your Hands Day’, a closing event where the girls proudly presented their tech and design projects. Awards were given to outstanding participants who showcased excellence in creativity and execution. The event proved to be a celebration of potential and a window into the future of tech innovation led by young women.

Support from Industry Leaders

The initiative was supported by notable partners including SARA by Wema Bank, Interswitch, Cisco, Speyer Holdings, Page Asset Management, and NetCredit Africa. These organizations not only funded the programme but also provided mentorship, technical tools, and a pathway for future career growth.

How You Can Benefit or Get Involved

Aspiring girls aged 15–20 should keep an eye out for the next cohort by following Thrive Above and Beyond Foundation on social media or visiting their website.

Parents and guardians can register their wards to gain early exposure to technology and creative careers.

Volunteers and tech professionals can mentor or contribute resources to support the programme’s mission.

Organizations can partner with the Foundation to build a stronger, gender-inclusive tech ecosystem.

“We want every girl to know that innovation is not distant or out of reach; it is right in their hands,” said Bolaji John, Founder of Thrive Above and Beyond Foundation.

The Thrive Girls in STEM programme shows that with the right support, young girls can excel in technology and become future leaders of innovation. This is more than training—it’s a movement to create lasting change.
