YMR Partners Premium Trust Bank to Award ₦24m Business Grants to Young Entrepreneurs
The Young Ministers Retreat (YMR) has taken a bold step to support Nigerian youths beyond spiritual development by empowering them economically. At the 2025 edition of the retreat held at Redemption City, YMR partnered with Premium Trust Bank to award ₦24 million in business grants to young entrepreneurs.
Traditionally known for intense fasting and prayer, the four-day retreat expanded its focus this year to address the harsh economic realities facing young Nigerians, especially business owners and startup founders.
Empowering a “New Army” of Entrepreneurs
The convener of YMR and Pastor in charge of RCCG Youth Province 20, Pastor Daniel Olawande (PDaniel), explained that the initiative was intentional. According to him, spiritual growth must go hand in hand with financial empowerment.
“While we ensure spiritual growth, we must also ensure young Nigerians are financially capable of growing their businesses. This is how we contribute to the economic growth of the country,” – Pastor Daniel Olawande (PDaniel)
To ensure fairness and transparency, participants submitted detailed information about their businesses. These entries were reviewed by a jury, after which prequalified, candidates were selected through a raffle draw.
Real Impact, Real Stories
One of the beneficiaries, Mary Anu, who received a ₦2 million grant, described the support as unexpected but life-changing, noting that it would significantly boost her business operations.
The Executive Director of Digital and E-Business at Premium Trust Bank, Shina Atilola, supervised the grant distribution and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
How You Can Be Part of YMR
Young people who want to benefit from YMR opportunities should:
Stay updated through YMR and RCCG Youth platforms
Register early when retreat registration opens
Attend the retreat fully (spiritually and physically)
Prepare a clear, practical business plan if business grants are announced
Be consistent and committed, as selection is transparent and merit-based
Now in its ninth year, YMR has grown into a global movement with over 300,000 attendees in 2025. As preparations begin for the 2026 edition themed “City Takers,” YMR continues to prove that faith, leadership, and economic empowerment can work together to build a stronger Nigeria.
