Nigeria Customs Recruitment: 3,852 Candidates Selected from Over 573,000 Applicants – What You Should Know
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially released the final list of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, ending a process that attracted 573,680 applications nationwide.
Out of all applicants, only 3,852 candidates were selected, making the recruitment one of the most competitive in the Service’s history, with a success rate of just 0.67%.
Recruitment Breakdown
According to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, the successful candidates were recruited into three entry cadres:
- 1,275 – Superintendent Cadre
- 367 – Inspectorate Cadre
- 2,210 – Customs Assistant Cadre
The recruitment exercise, which opened in December 2024, lasted about 20 months due to the high number of applications, extensive verification processes, and the Service’s commitment to transparency.
What Successful Candidates Should Expect
The Nigeria Customs Service stated that candidates on the final list are not yet fully enlisted. They will still undergo:
- Physical assessment
- Medical examination
- Final review and approval by the Customs Board
