The All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has announced a powerful new initiative — the AFRIMA Kreative Academy (TAKA) — which aims to empower 1.2 million young Africans over the next five years. The programme will focus on education, skills development, and job creation in the music and creative industries.
The project, themed “Learn and Prosper,” targets Africans aged 18 to 35, especially those from underserved and vulnerable communities. This is a golden opportunity for young creatives who are passionate about music, events, or digital media but lack access to structured training and mentorship.
What TAKA Will Offer
According to AFRIMA Founder, Mike Dada, the initiative responds to the need for practical learning and employment in Africa’s booming creative space. The academy will offer world-class training in:
Music production
Music business and entrepreneurship
Event technical production
Digital technology
Internet of Things (IoT)
Each year, there will be three training cycles, with each cycle running for four months. The academy will also engage top professionals from Africa and the diaspora as trainers and mentors.
“If Africa wants to keep competing globally in the music and cultural industry, we must do more than celebrate talent — we must invest in it,” said Mike Dada.
Why This Matters
The academy aims to go beyond skills training. It seeks to boost job creation, promote African culture, and enhance the economic potential of the youth. Participants will gain practical skills that can lead to real jobs, collaborations, and business opportunities in the creative economy.
Global Exposure and More
AFRIMA also announced a global music tour starting in 2026, which will feature mega shows, cultural festivals, and live performances across Africa and beyond. This offers young artists a platform to perform, connect with fans, and grow their careers.
The 2025 edition of AFRIMA will end with a grand celebration from November 25 to 30, featuring events like the Africa Music Business Summit, Music Village Festival, and the Main Awards Ceremony, broadcast globally on over 84 channels.
If you’re a young African with a passion for creativity, AFRIMA’s Kreative Academy is your chance to learn, grow, and succeed. Stay informed, apply when registration opens, and grab this life-changing opportunity.
