Bet9ja Foundation Empowers 180 Communities with Boreholes, Scholarships, Business Support & More

Foundation Impacts 33 States with 206 Projects

In just two years of operation, the Bet9ja Foundation has carried out 206 humanitarian projects across 33 states and the FCT, touching the lives of over 65,000 Nigerians through impactful initiatives.

Speaking during a media tour in Lagos, the Executive Director, Ada Cuomo, highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to national development. “In just about two years, we’ve visited 33 states and impacted about 180 communities,” she said.

Water, Power, and Support for Small Businesses

One of the major interventions is the installation of solar-powered boreholes in water-scarce areas, particularly in northern communities. This has provided thousands of residents with safe and clean water.

The Foundation also supports Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by offering credit and business grants. Beneficiaries have included traders, artisans, and start-ups in rural and semi-urban areas.

Educational Grants and Scholarships

Bet9ja Foundation has provided educational grants and awarded scholarships to 100 undergraduates in public universities. Hundreds of students across the country have benefited from this gesture, easing the financial burden on families.

Youth Development and Employability Skills

The Foundation has also focused on youth empowerment, conducting training in business plan writing, CV development, and job-readiness skills. Graduate employability summits and entrepreneurship programmes have helped young Nigerians launch or expand their ventures.

“We don’t stop at providing support. We follow up and monitor beneficiaries for six to seven months to ensure they are on track,” — Ada Cuomo, Executive Director, Bet9ja Foundation

South-West Leads in Project Reach

The South-West has received the highest number of projects (110), followed by the South-South (28) and the South-East (26). This wide reach shows the Foundation’s dedication to nationwide impact.
