Dangote Cement Supports Lagos School with Furniture and Learning Materials
Dangote Cement Plc
Dangote Cement Plc has donated classroom furniture and learning materials to Ladi-Lak Nursery and Primary School in Apapa, Lagos, as part of its social investment efforts to improve education in communities connected to its operations.
The intervention, carried out through the company’s Clinker Terminal, provided chairs, tables and other educational resources to help improve classroom conditions for pupils and teachers.
Education Support for Public Schools
According to the school’s head teacher, Ayoku Adenike, the donation followed a request from the school for assistance. She described the intervention as a major improvement to some of the school’s immediate needs.
“What once seemed like a dream has become a reality today,” Adenike said.
Dangote Cement says its Social Investment Programme focuses on areas including education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic empowerment. The company states that its community investments are designed to address identified needs within communities where it operates.
How Can Schools and Communities Benefit?
Schools and community groups should note that this donation does not mean there is currently a public application form for furniture or educational materials.
However, Dangote Cement’s approach shows that community needs assessment and direct engagement can form part of its social investment process. The company has previously supported schools with educational projects and says its interventions are based on identified community needs.
Schools seeking support can therefore:
- Identify their most urgent educational needs and document them clearly.
- Prepare a formal request explaining the school’s location, beneficiaries, and specific items required.
- Engage relevant community representatives and stakeholders, particularly where the school is within or connected to a Dangote Cement host community.
- Monitor Dangote Cement’s official announcements for future education, scholarship, skills and empowerment programmes.

The Ladi-Lak intervention highlights how corporate social investment can complement government efforts in education. While the reported donation is not a general grant open to individual applicants, schools and communities can learn from the process by identifying genuine needs, engaging appropriate stakeholders and monitoring official announcements for relevant support programmes.
