Dufil Supports 200 Nigerians Living with Sickle Cell Disorder with Free Medication
Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, has continued its support for Nigerians living with sickle cell disorder (SCD) through its partnership with the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN).
The reported intervention provided free essential medication to 200 beneficiaries, helping reduce the financial burden of managing a lifelong condition.
Why the Support Matters
Sickle cell disorder can cause recurrent pain, anaemia, infections and other serious complications, making consistent medical care essential. The Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria provides services including genotype testing, genetic counselling, free drug administration, specialised clinics and stroke-risk screening.
The Foundation says Nigeria has one of the world’s heaviest burdens of sickle cell disorder, with large number of babies born with the condition every year.
Dufil’s intervention is therefore significant because medication costs can place considerable pressure on families already dealing with repeated hospital visits and other expenses.

Young Nigerians should also understand the importance of knowing their genotype before making family-planning decisions. Genetic counselling can help individuals understand inherited risks and make informed choices.
