Lagos Distributes 600,000 Smart Tablets to Students: How to Benefit from the Digital Education Initiative 

The Lagos State Government, led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has taken a major step toward improving education by distributing over 600,000 smart digital tablets to public secondary school students. 

This initiative, under the Hope for Digital Education programme, is designed to equip students with modern learning tools and prepare them for a digital future. 

What the Initiative Is About 

The programme is part of the Lagos State T.H.E.M.E.S agenda, focusing on Education and Technology as key drivers of growth. 

According to the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the tablets come with: 

Curriculum-based lessons 

Educational videos 

Mock exams and test materials 

Life skills content 

Powered by the Roducate platform and supported with data-enabled SIM cards, students can now access learning materials anytime, anywhere.

Lagos recorded about 80% WAEC pass rate in 2021
