During a recent inspection of the Marina Train Station and Mile 2 Transport Interchange Hub, Akinajo highlighted how these projects aim to connect various transport modes, including road, rail, water, and nonmotorized options. She described the transport hubs as key transfer points designed to make commuting easier and faster for residents. 

“The 13-kilometer Blue Rail Line is a game changer for transportation in Lagos, connecting people seamlessly across modes.” 

Mile 2 Hub and Marina Station Development 

The Mile 2 Interchange Hub, which is expected to be completed in the next 12 to 13 months, will serve residents of Mile 2, FESTAC, and Amuwo-Odofin. It will provide a new and efficient way for commuters to travel between Ojo and Marina/CMS areas. Similarly, the Marina Station will connect major transportation networks, ensuring that people can transition smoothly from one mode of transport to another. 

The Game-Changing Blue Rail Line 

One of the major highlights of LAMATA’s efforts is the 13-kilometer Lagos Blue Rail Line, stretching from Mile 2 to Marina. This project is seen as a game changer for public transport in Lagos.
