Late President Muhammadu Buhari to Be Buried Tuesday in Daura

The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has confirmed that former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in a hospital in London, will be laid to rest on Tuesday in his hometown of Daura, located in Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State. 

Speaking during a press briefing at the Government House in Katsina, Governor Radda disclosed that consultations were held with Buhari’s family and close associates in London before finalizing the burial arrangements. 

Burial Details and National Mourning 

According to the governor, the late President’s body will arrive in Katsina by 12 noon on Tuesday and will be transported to Daura for burial by 2 pm. He expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the people and government of Katsina, offering condolences to Buhari’s family and the entire nation. 

    “On behalf of myself, the people and government of Katsina State, we condole the family and the people of Nigeria, especially His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the demise of his predecessor. May Almighty Allah give us the fortitude to bear the loss.” — Gov. Dikko Radda 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown great respect for the legacy of his predecessor by ordering Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila to accompany Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.
