NEMA Extends Relief Support to Kano Flood Victims

The relief effort, carried out in partnership with the Office of the Hon. Member representing the constituency, was aimed at bringing immediate comfort to families whose homes and livelihoods were destroyed by the disaster. According to NEMA Kano, the intervention was part of ongoing nationwide efforts to assist flood-affected communities and help them recover faster. 

What the Beneficiaries Received  

Each affected household received essential food items such as rice, maize, beans, vegetable oil, salt, seasoning cubes, and tomatoes. The agency noted that the items were distributed transparently and peacefully with the support of SEMA officials and security agencies. 

A representative of the House of Representatives commended NEMA and the Federal Government for their swift and compassionate response, saying it brought hope to those who lost so much in the flood.

“This timely support will ease the hardship of many affected families and give them the strength to rebuild,”  

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to NEMA, SEMA, and their representative, praying for protection from future disasters and pledging to cooperate in future disaster risk reduction programs.
