Nigerian Breweries Grants Empowerment Support to Women Entrepreneurs in Enugu

Nigerian Breweries Plc, through Amstel Malta, has supported women entrepreneurs in Enugu State with business grants as part of a women’s empowerment initiative aimed at strengthening small and medium-sized businesses.

The support was announced during the annual August Meeting, a major Igbo women’s homecoming that brings women from Nigeria and the diaspora together to reconnect with their communities and contribute to development.

How the Women Benefited

The initiative targeted women entrepreneurs from different senatorial zones in Enugu State, providing financial assistance to help strengthen their businesses.

According to Amstel Malta Senior Brand Manager, Francis Obiajulu, the intervention reflects the brand’s “Be Your Best” campaign and its focus on resilience, excellence and community development.

“It’s also about encouraging and empowering our consumers to strive for greatness, strive for excellence.”

Nigerian Breweries said its participation demonstrates its commitment to supporting consumers, communities and local businesses.

How to Be Part of Similar Opportunities

Women entrepreneurs looking to benefit from future business grants and empowerment programmes can take these steps:

  1. Build a legitimate business: Have a clear business idea or an existing small business with evidence of operations.
  1. Register your business: Where possible, obtain relevant business registration and identification documents.
  1. Prepare your documents: Keep your ID, business registration documents, bank details, business plan and other required records ready.
  1. Follow verified organisers: Monitor official pages of Nigerian Breweries, Amstel Malta, government agencies and recognised development organisations for new opportunities.
  1. Attend community programmes: Initiatives connected to events such as the August Meeting may provide opportunities to meet organisers and stakeholders.
  1. Apply when applications open: Carefully follow eligibility requirements and submit applications before deadlines.
  1. Avoid scams: Never pay unofficial individuals for a grant or disclose sensitive banking information without verifying the programme.

The Enugu initiative highlights how women empowerment, business grants and community partnerships can help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and strengthen local economies. Women should actively monitor verified empowerment programmes and prepare their businesses to take advantage of future opportunities.
