NVCCI Unveils Plans to Support Youth-Led Startups and Strengthen Nigeria-Vietnam Trade Relations
The Nigeria-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced plans to strengthen youth entrepreneurship in Nigeria by integrating young innovators and startup founders into its long-term economic development strategy.
The decision was reached during the 2026 NVCCI Business Meeting held in Lagos on March 27 under the leadership of Oye Akinsemoyin.
According to the communique released after the meeting, the chamber aims to create a sustainable ecosystem that encourages youth participation, innovation, and cross-border business collaboration between Nigeria and Vietnam.
Chamber Plans to Support Youth-Driven Innovation
The chamber revealed that it would engage youth-led startups with disruptive and innovative business ideas as part of a broader effort to drive economic growth and entrepreneurship.
NVCCI explained that the initiative would bring together government institutions, private sector players, and international partners to create opportunities for Nigerian youths to thrive in business and innovation.
The organisation noted that the collaboration would help establish a “game-changing and lasting youth-driven contribution ecosystem” capable of promoting creativity, enterprise development, and economic inclusion.
The chamber also stressed the importance of introducing fresh ideas into business planning and economic development through active youth participation.
“The initiative will lay the foundation for a game-changing, enhanced and lasting youth-driven contribution ecosystem through collaborative developmental efforts.”

As part of its international trade expansion strategy, the chamber also intensified preparations for participation in the 2026 Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition (VILOG).
The programme is scheduled to hold between July 30 and August 1, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The communique also approved the appointment of official travel advisors, protocol officers, transportation coordinators, financial advisors, and tour guides to support the Nigeria delegation to Vietnam.
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Visits to Drive Investment Opportunities
Speaking on the planned visit, NVCCI President Oye Akinsemoyin explained that the first phase of the delegation would take place in Hanoi, where Nigerian and Vietnamese government officials would discuss bilateral investment and public sector opportunities.
He added that the Hanoi session would feature a special Nigeria-Vietnam Business Investment Forum before the delegation proceeds to Ho Chi Minh City for the logistics exhibition.
Akinsemoyin also disclosed that the VILOG exhibition would include a mini “Products of Nigeria Exhibition 2026,” aimed at showcasing Nigerian products and investment opportunities to the Vietnamese market.
He described Ho Chi Minh City as Vietnam’s commercial hub and one of the country’s major port cities.
