Stanbic IBTC and Orange Corners Nigeria Join Forces to Empower Young Entrepreneurs
Stanbic IBTC Bank has partnered with Orange Corners Nigeria, an initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to support young entrepreneurs across the country. Orange Corners Nigeria is implemented locally by the Fate Foundation and has been active since 2019, providing training, mentorship, and access to funding for youth-led businesses.
This partnership aims to expand opportunities for Nigerian youth by increasing access to funding, expert mentorship, and business training—key ingredients for entrepreneurial success.
What This Means for Young Entrepreneurs
Wole Adeniyi, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs. “We are going to help catalyze more entrepreneurs and help the youth. It goes with what we are doing with SME businesses. We will scale, empower, and provide financing that supports the economy,” he said.
Orange Corners Nigeria functions as a business incubator and innovation fund, helping startups grow through a mix of practical support and network building. This partnership with Stanbic IBTC will allow the program to reach more young people and increase its positive impact on Nigeria’s economy.
Strong Support from Partners and Leaders
Michel Deelen, Consul-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, described the initiative as a symbol of trust in Nigerian youth, saying, “Orange Corners is the expression of our belief in the youth of Nigeria. From inception, the plan was to do this together with the private sector, and we are very pleased to have found a partner in Stanbic IBTC.”
Adenike Adeyemi, Executive Director of Fate Foundation, added that the collaboration would deepen the program’s reach and impact: “We’re excited to partner with Stanbic IBTC to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, where young people can turn their ideas into successful businesses. This partnership offers more support, mentorship, and growth opportunities, driving innovation and job creation.”
Voices from the Field
Entrepreneurs currently benefiting from the program shared their stories, describing how mentorship and funding have helped their businesses grow despite challenges. Their experiences highlight the real difference such initiatives make in empowering young Nigerians.
“When young people have the right support and access to resources, they become the strongest drivers of economic growth and innovation.”
This partnership between Stanbic IBTC Bank and Orange Corners Nigeria offers real hope and practical support for Nigeria’s youth. By providing funding, mentorship, and training, it helps young entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses, create jobs, and contribute to a stronger economy.
